Here is a quick flow of events at Furlenco’s first ever Hackathon – FURLENCODE by Blogger Shaiju Mathew
FURLENCODE – a hackathon event organized by home furniture rental industry leader Furlenco to discover some of the best talents in the technological field was a huge success. In association with Venturesity, Furlencode kick-started on 12th March 2016 at 10:00 am.

The 24-hour long hackathon saw a major footfall of Engineers coming from various cities. Moreover, Furlencode saw a good number of women coders participating in the first ever hackathon conducted by Furlenco.

A formal introduction to the company and the tasks to be achieved during the hackathon was briefed to the participants by the Product and Technology team heads as well as by the company COO – Ashwin Venkatraman.

The participants formed teams of one to four and got into brainstorming sessions before starting work on their assignments.

If you thought that the entire event was a serious affair, then you are mistaken. There were many fun moments during the event. Few of Furlenco’s techies played music to entertain the participants.

There was unending flow of drinks and snacks to keep the team charged and hydrated as they worked incessantly for 24 hours.

Team members from Furlenco were always available at the beck and call of any participant helping them with their queries and making things available to them as and when required.

After a grueling 24 hour task, the teams were able to put up some really good innovative ideas to shape.

Around 12:00 pm on 13th March the teams were asked to present their projects in front of the respected panel consisting of Ajith Mohan Karimpana – CEO Furlenco and Ashwin Venkatraman – COO Furlenco along with Inder, and Ritwik who were winners of Techcrunch Disrupt, San Francisco.

Some of the projects presented by the participants as per the judges were mind-blowing and innovative, however after a lot of thought the winners were declared.

Team Whitewalkers who walked away with the Rs. 50,000/- cash prize developed an application where one could look out for services at night eg: medicines, groceries, food and beverages etc.

While Team Padawans who won the runner up title and a cash prize of Rs. 30,000/- developed a solution for analyzing user activity on a website which can enable the website/business owners to get better business insights. All in a day’s work!

Ajith Mohan Karimpana – CEO, Furlenco in his final speech declared that there will be more such events coming up from Furlenco in the near future, to dig out some of the rare technological as well as design gems who can bring about a greater change to the ever changing technological and design space within Furlenco!
